Yes, gin lovers, there’s a new well-rounded and aromatic gin in town from South Australia’s Threefold Distillery.

Dutch drinks firm De Kuyper and bartender Salvatore Calabrese have released “aromatic” liqueur brand Acqua Bianca in the UK Bianca through distributor Cellar Trends.

The liqueur (which has a 24% ABV) has ingredients such as lemon, bergamot, peppermint and rose, as well as the essence of ambergris, which is traditionally used in perfumery.

Calabrese said: “My idea was to create something totally unusual that does not yet exist in the market. It had to be something very versatile – a liqueur to inspire new cocktails, and that is able to take the centre stage in any cocktail creation.

Mark de Witte, CEO of De Kuyper Royal Distillers, said: “The co-creation of liqueurs with leading bartenders is a key pillar of our global strategy and an important part of how we want to innovate and lead and premiumise the liqueur category.”

Bombay Sapphire will expand its range with a quartet of naturally flavoured gin liqueurs to be launched in a gift pack ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Each of the four flavours – rose, hibiscus, raspberry and strawberry – has an ABV of 20% and a different pink hue “to offer a touch of vibrancy for Instagram-ready drinks”.

“The four distinct flavours found in the pack have been carefully developed to complement our world-famous gin, without overpowering the much-loved profile of the gin itself,” said Renaud de Bosredon, Bombay Sapphire brand ambassador.

The Bombay Creations Gin Liqueurs pack has a recommended retail price of £12 and will be available from Ocado from 5 February and in-store at Sainsbury’s from 12 February.

Bacardi has partnered with the UK bar chain Revolución de Cuba to launch a limited-edition rum.

Bacardi Aventura is a blend of tropically aged dark rums matured for a minimum of three years in American oak barrels and infused with ‘notes of tropical fruit, cedar and vanilla’.

The expression will go on sale from 26 November at each of the 17 Revolución de Cuba’s bars across the UK, both within a series of festive cocktails and as a take-out bottle.

Cocktails include Cherry Xmas – a mix of amaretto, cranberries and cherry syrup – and the Gingerbread Old Fashioned – stirred with gingerbread syrup and Angostura bitters.

Following on from the release of their Adelaide Gin earlier this year, Australian Distilling Co is introducing three new premium craft gins for Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, to coincide with the inaugural Australian Gin Day on the 23rd November.

Working with Master Distiller Dr Graham Jones, Michael Hickinbotham has created the gins to reflect the spirit of each city.

Perth Gin uses boronia paired with lemon myrtle. Brisbane utilises the fresh citrus flavours of kaffir lime and finger lime, with hints of fresh ginger. While Sydney has been designed to reflect the distinct aromatics of lemon rind, lime zest and orange peel.

Sydney distillery Poor Toms has teamed up with Melbourne soft drink maker StrangeLove to create a range of premixed drink served in cans called Love Can.

The RTDs will be available in three variants – a perfectly paired Gin & Tonic, an all-natural Vodka Yuzu Soda, and a reimagined Negroni-style Spritz.

The two businesses have joined forces to take advantage of the general trend towards on-the-go convenience, while also embracing the move away from sugar and towards low ABV.

All Love Can products are 5%ABV and are available in 4-packs through selected BWS and Dan Murphy’s nationally.
