Elixir Distillers has added a 12-year-old single malt to its Port Askaig Scotch whisky range.
Said to balance sweetness and smoke, the Islay whisky is bottled at 45.8% without caramel colouring or chill filtration.
Said to have aromas of peated malt, zesty lemon oil and a maritime minerality, the Port Askaig 12 Years Old Spring Edition has flavours of lemon sherbet, key lime pie, sooty smoke and toffee-led sweetness.
The finish is said to deliver barbecued Persian black lemon and dried mint leaves, with a touch of paprika.
